Wellbeing Planning 101 - 2025
Online via Zoom - Friday, 16 May 2025
Workshops run 9 am - 3 pm
A senior clinician's take on preparing either type of ACC's wellbeing plans.
PLEASE NOTE: This is not ACC endorsed training – it is a senior clinician’s take. It offers guidance in how to tackle the tasks in providing either type of Wellbeing Plan under the revised ACC Sensitive Claims Service. Your attendance for this training does not guarantee ACC approval of your wellbeing plans.
This webinar addresses ways to complete Wellbeing Plans as well as Cover to Wellbeing Plans as required in the newly updated ACC contract. Cover to Wellbeing Plans are needed for those kiritaki (clients) on pathway A and Wellbeing Plans are needed for those with more complex needs on pathway B following Specialist Cover Assessments.
Regardless of the pathway, each kiritaki requires a therapy and recovery plan and this webinar aims to assist those new to this mahi and those needing a refresher in how to go about providing either type of wellbeing plan. The webinar will offer the opportunity to understand the evaluation and formulation skills needed for the successful completion of these plans.
In addition, it offers a practical focus on the clinical task of writing a coherent and well-reasoned evaluation of needs, reflected in the goals and the indicated pathway for recovery. ACC provides learning modules on the changes to the system and these are freely available for registered and approved providers, so they will not be repeated here.
The presenter Diane Clare is an experienced clinical psychologist who has been an ACC provider since the 1990s. Diane has provided assessments and therapy since the start of the Sensitive Claims service. This interactive webinar addresses what can help or hinder you in completing wellbeing plans. Diane also offer Specialist Cover Assessments 101. She has developed an elearning training on Early Planning Reports and plans to adapt this to Early Supports Planning when time permits.
Please Note: this workshop will touch on emotional issues such as grief and/or trauma, and some of the material covered in our workshops may be sensitive or triggering to certain participants. We encourage everyone to practice self-care and either reach out to us, or directly discuss any concerns with our presenter.
Workshop Content
Based on the acronym MAKE Clearer, this training will cover how to:
Make a distinction between the two kinds of wellbeing plan, when they are used and how your task differs for each of these.
Address recovery/treatment needs to establish which pathway is indicated.
Know your way around the report templates to guide you in writing them.
Establish SMART* and clinically informed goals to meet the needs of your kiritaki (client).
Clearer understandings about services available.
The content of the webinar will address these points and provide the opportunity to discuss challenges arising in practice for participants in an interactive way.
*SMART goals according to the ACC Operational Guidelines means Specific, Measurable, Action-oriented, Realistic and Time-bound.
Diane Clare will facilitate this workshop using ZOOM.
If you have specific questions, we recommend these be emailed to us at least 3 business days before the webinar.
