Developing an Embodied Gratitude Practice
Thursday 28 November 2024
9am - 12.30pm
Online
Gratitude has been shown to be the most effective way to rewire our brain to be more positive. And, did you know there are many ways of doing gratitude – and some are more effective than others! At its optimum, gratitude connects us to others, changes our heart rhythm and reduces stress, improves immune function, we sleep longer and deeper, we feel more joyful, more compassionate, more generous, more productive at work, it enhances self esteem, resilience and we generally feel more alive.
Suzanne (along with her colleague Sarah Carruthers) spent 18 months researching gratitude, and wrote their book ‘The Ultimate Gratitude Practice’ which was published in 2023.
This practical, interactive workshop will share with you: the key components of an effective, embodied, gratitude practice; how to use your multiple intelligences to amplify the results; and how to weave in the power of stories to take the outcome to a whole new level.
If you have heard about “doing” gratitude, or maybe you have even done a simple practice like thinking of three things every day you are grateful for, and you would like to know how to take your gratituding practices to the next level to see amazing results – then come and join us, for a day you will not forget.

Suzanne, along with Sarah Carruthers, have published a book ‘The Ultimate Gratitude Journal’ (the forward of which was written by Professor Paul Gilbert, OBE).
The Ultimate Gratitude Journal makes developing an effective daily practice that will rewire your brain to be healthier and happier easy: making being grateful as natural as breathing. Being accountable will not only short-circuit negative thought loops, but will help you shift your focus to a positive one, cultivate mindfulness and create a different way of living.
Our brains have an in-built negativity bias: designed not to make us happy, but to help us survive. But by focusing on what’s wrong, and keeping us safe, it can lead us to feeling stressed, worried, fearful, sad… even though there are lots of positive things going on in our lives. In effect, the brain is like Velcro for negative experiences, but Teflon for positive ones.
The Ultimate Gratitude Journal makes developing an effective daily practice easy: making being grateful as natural as breathing.
