The programme will feature presentations from a line-up of key national and international leaders in nonprofit ICT thinking and action, as well as workshop streams to bring best practices, products and services, and demonstrations from around the globe.

We’re delighted to introduce Terry Stokes, Chief Executive of Lasa in the UK as a keynote speaker. Lasa helps empower and support thousands of third sector and government bodies across the UK each year by providing knowledge, support and resources.
Terry will reflect on technology in the not for profit sector in challenging economic times, sharing what they are doing in the UK to meet these challenges.


Doug Jacquier has been Chief Executive Officer of Connecting Up, Australia since 2000. His achievements include instigating the annual Connecting Up conference series on nonprofit technology in Australia, negotiating a partnership with TechSoup Global to establish the DonorTec technology donation programme in Australia, as well as the TechSoup New Zealand and TechSoup Asia programmes, launching Australia’s first national directory of nonprofits and charities, and winning the Equity Trustees Australian Not-For-Profit CEO Award for Innovator of the Year in 2008. His achievements and strategic networking have led to him being invited to address conferences in the US, UK, New Zealand and South Africa. Doug will outline the work his organisation has done to build capacity in Australian, New Zealand and Asian nonprofits, though leveraging local, national and international networks.

Your organisation’s reputation is more important than you think! The ‘reputation’ champion Hannah Samuel will address key branding issues for community organisations. Hannah is an Auckland-based speaker, author and mentor and is 2011’s New Zealand’s Business Speaker of the Year. Hannah strongly believes that effective reputation marketing strategies can help us achieve organisational success.
She will prove to us that ‘who’ our organisation is and ‘what’ it does and ‘how’—in the eyes of those who encounter it, is a vital determining factor for any organisations success or otherwise.

Kitty Hilton is one of New Zealand’s foremost professional fundraisers and offers a wealth of practical solutions to ensure that fundraising—an organisation’s lifeline—is effective, strategically-founded, and communicated well and in a way that meets a diversity of donors’ expectations, as well as pointers on how to ‘ask’ successfully for donations and keep donors giving.

Mitchell Pham, is Co-founder, Director, Manager – Augen HEALTH & AugenASIA, Chairman of Augen Vietnam.  In 2011, Mitchell was honoured by the World Economic Forum as Young Global Leader. Augen also won the prestigious Red Herring Top 100 award for the Asia Pacific region.
Mitchell has a depth of experience in developing software in a context of collaboration across organisations and will share his experiences and successes here.

Laurence Millar is current Chair of the 2020 Communications Trust.  He feels there is a critical need for stronger leadership in the role of ICT in the community and voluntary sector, and the Trust is well placed to provide that leadership. The Trust is specifically concerned to help all New Zealanders benefit from the opportunities of the new digital era, especially from the internet.
Laurence will share how the Trust is working to embrace digital literacy issues in New Zealand.

For some time now Social Development Partners has been active in promoting the better use of technology in nonprofits and community organisations. Besides bringing you this Conference, Executive Director, Tina Reid & Communications & Development Manager, David Barrow will both share what activities and programmes they’re involved in what they see as joining the dots to make things happen to grow sector ICT awareness, usage, and capacity.
